Spc. Raymond S. Armijo of Phoenix, Ariz., moved with his mother to Phoenix at age 4 and was known as "Bear" to most everyone. Standing more than 6 feet tall and known for his megawatt smile, he was seen as the "gentle giant" of the family. He was the type of guy that was the middle man. He never had anything bad to say about people and got along with everyone. He loved trying new foods, listening to all kinds of music and unabashedly singing along. He had aspirations of buying a truck and someday joining the FBI working SWAT. was engaged to be married. He was happy to be engaged to be married and looking to the future. He had a tattoo on his forearm. On one side it said, "The choices we make." On the other side, it said "are the people we become. Bear was loved by all of his family and friends. For all who knew him remember the playful child and strong man he was. The remembrance of his smile, laughter, loud music, dancing and beautiful heart will live on. Survived by his mother, Tina Armijo, sister Santana, brother Alfonso, nephew Victor, fiance Genavieve, father Raymond Armijo, grandmother Velia, great grandmother Frances Olivas. He was was killed in Taji from a roadside bomb at age 22.
